Just like a relationship, taking care of your brand requires a lot of work and effort! Yes, this is indeed an unusual association but it works perfectly! Here are 3 questions to ask about your brand to make sure it’s in check.
1) TRUTH: WHO AM I?
What happens when a person doesn’t know who they are at their core? They feel weak, confused and at loss of choices; all decisions become too challenging to make. Similarly, a brand that cannot clearly answer the question “WHO AM I?” will definitely feel misled at key crossroads.
Knowing and stating clearly ones values, desires, essence, fears and strengths clears the road for the steps ahead and creates a promising future.
A brand needs to know which values it believes in, what force drives it forward, and hence what makes it UNIQUE in today’s world.
2) AUTHENTICITY: AM I TRUE TO MYSELF?
What occurs when a person drifts away from their true authentic self? They feel lost, anxious, and depressed as if something vital has gone missing; that’s exactly what happens to brands that aren’t true to themselves and to their own voice.
Brands that constantly play with their identity start to slowly shut down, triggering with them intense confusion and disdain on behalf of their customers.
3) CONSISTENCY: IS WHAT I AM SAYING TODAY RELEVANT TO WHAT I HAVE SAID YESTERDAY?
There’s nothing more powerful and more impressive than mastering the art of consistency. A consistent person has the ability to create a stable and a safe environment; and do you know what is nurtured in a safe environment? Trust is.
Likewise, brands that are perceived as consistent are brands that have earned their customer’s trust. They hold themselves true to their authentic selves despite of all of the challenges that may arise.
They maintain the same “voice” throughout the years and experiences, they actually do what they have promised to do, and they don’t do what they have sworn to never do. Simply, they are trustworthy and reliable; that’s certainly what keeps them miles ahead of others.
Let your brand be TRUE, be AUTHENTIC and be CONSISTENT.
